Gum Disease – Why You Need Coverage
Gum disease is one of the most common dental problems. You may even have had suffered from one form or another without realizing it. Gingivitis is the earliest stage of gum disease, and perhaps the most common form as well. What happens is that the teeth experience a buildup of plaque, resulting in bacteria accumulation as well. The symptoms include swelling of the gums and bleeding. The gums turn red as well. This condition is not painful, but can easily become worse if not treated immediately.
When gingivitis advances, it becomes periodontitis, which comes in various forms. Basically, what happens is that the plaque and bacteria go below the gumline. At its worst, this disease can separate the gums and teeth.
Treatment of gum diseases can be quite expensive, the cost depending on the exact nature of your problem. One way to ensure that you do not have to face this problem is to undergo regular check up and maintenance procedures. These can be dealt with by minor coverage, but gum disease will almost always require full coverage.
